Beecher’s was a long time client of Mentor Creative Group, and approached us in 2023 when they were ready to do some extensive website updates. They were launching an expanded line of consumer packaged goods, as well as shifting their online fulfillment strategy from direct to 3rd party. They needed a website that matched the new designs of their packaging and directed traffic to shop products on partnering websites or at local grocery stores. My role in this project was to act as lead designer, and also partner with a UX designer and a development team to redesign the website.
The UX Designer and I conducted user research and testing, conducting 12 interviews that A/B tested key points in the UX design, and folded the learnings of the testing into wireframes, user flows, and a detailed sitemap. While that was happening I had meetings with the Beecher’s marketing and design team to better understand their market position and branding. They had a pretty clear idea of what they wanted and didn’t want, so I used the style tile or concept board phase of the project to show variations, one that focuses on close-ups, one that used bolder colors, but all still very much in the same brand tone, to see what details resonated with them. I also tested out online fonts that would match their print brand fonts, recommending options that were the same feel but easier to read on screens.
Once the brand was established I designed out every page of the site in desktop and mobile using Figma to do my work. I held weekly reviews with the client, meet with the development team and worked on shared docs like the sitemap and the Asana board to make sure each change or revision was updated and everything stayed on track as we went through several changes in plans before launch.
